Setting off from Golden Club Cabanas, you can walk on the beach or follow the pathways along the salt pans, lagoon and orange groves within the Nature Reserve of Ria Formosa, with friends or with family, on foot or by bike.
You can cover the extent of the Algarve coast by bike or on foot. Take to the ecovia that includes nature trails through protected areas and stretches of little used roads, and passes right by Golden Club Cabanas.
Taking the Tavira Route, discover the salt pans, the birds and sea breezes of the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve. Heading eastwards, you pass through Cabanas and onto old municipal paths through orange groves and golf courses as far as Cacela Velha.

The Castro Marim salt pans, on the banks of the Guadiana River, have been producing sea salt for the last 2000 years.
In Tavira, they talk of “Tavira snow” and “Atlantic cream” in reference to the sea salt produced in the local pans.
